Principal Specialist Behaviour Support Clinician
Lin is a Registered Psychologist and Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Clinician with almost 20 years of experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural, mental health, and rehabilitation needs. Lin provides evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, and CBT for insomnia, as well as psychological assessments such as cognitive assessments and ADHD assessments.
Lin’s professional background spans public and private hospital settings, community mental health services, disability and non-profit organisations, schools, residential services, and private practice. Lin has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly (including Dementia), supporting people living with mental health conditions, disability, or both.
With an academic background in medical, psychology and extensive hands-on experience in clinical and rehabilitation settings, Lin offers a strong foundation in counselling, mental health assessment, and intervention. Lulu Xu is a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with extensive experience in the disability and NDIS sector. She has worked in the disability field for around nine years before the NDIS, and has continued working in this sector since the NDIS was introduced.
Over the years, Lulu has worked in a range of roles, including Disability Nurse Consultant, Disability Health and Clinical Advisor, and Teacher in the Diploma of Nursing. This background has given her a strong understanding of disability support, health-related needs, risk management, staff training, and the day-to-day realities faced by participants, families, and support teams.
In her behaviour support work, Lulu supports people with complex needs, including autism, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, communication difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and behaviours of concern. Her approach is practical, person-centred, and respectful. She takes time to understand the person behind the behaviour, including their communication, health, sensory needs, routines, relationships, and environment.
Lulu is experienced in completing observations, reviewing incident information, identifying behaviour patterns, developing positive behaviour support strategies, and working closely with families, support workers, support coordinators, allied health professionals, schools, day programs, and accommodation teams.
Her goal is to provide behaviour support that is realistic, meaningful, and focused on improving safety, quality of life, dignity, and confidence for both the participant and the people supporting them.
